Meet our new Pull-Tab Sign Series!

24th October 2017 by Todd Carey

Communicate critical patient information in a sleek and stylish way.

Patient-Centered Medical Facility Signage

Every patient has specific needs: Allergies. Medication reminders. Special post-op instructions. Instead of digging through volumes of files to find critical information, healthcare professionals can take advantage of ASI’s new pull-tab sign series to get the information they need in an instant.

ASI’s new pull-tab sign series communicates critical patient information in a sleek and stylish way, which is also ADA and HIPAA compliant. The signs are customizable with numerous pull-tab options, and distinctive graphics. It’s easy to update the signs with interchangeable inserts.

There are two lines in the series.
The Venus line a durable, flat-face modular interior signage system comprised of an anodized aluminum extrusion body, an optional design accent bar and insert options that provide a flexible system with a distinguished look.

Venus Flat Face patient information signage

The Horizon line is a clean, polished curved-face extrusion signage system design. It is based on a single piece of extruded aluminum, which creates stability and consistency across the line, and allows for a variety of panel insert solutions. The accent bar can be anodized or powder-coated or finished with a simulated woodgrain application.

Bring the Outdoors In!

26th July 2017 by Todd Carey

You don’t need the “elements” to create a unique architectural signage.

Get the look of Cor-ten (rusted) steel using aluminum and our faux weathering/rusting steel finishing process.

  • Rusted Steel
  • Rusted Steel

Why this is so cool:

  1. Versatility
  2. Overhead panels, room signs, decorative accents, custom shapes, illuminated lettering, dimensional lettering, routed designs, donor recognition displays, Wayfinding signage, and pretty much anything you can think of would be a great fit for this unique product. You can even add the rusted finish panels with other materials for a mixed-media look with tactile graphics.

  3. Durability
  4. The finish of the material is NOT rusting so the finish is not degraded any further nor will it cause damage (staining) to any of it surroundings. It will never rust through or discolor surrounding materials.

  5. Easy Upkeep
  6. The “rusting” process involves applying a primer with iron flakes to aluminum then clear coating to seal the material. This clear coating fends off possible vandalism by sealing the material and making it easier to clean.

  7. A Controlled Look
  8. We are able to choose and collaborate over the best rust level for the project. The rust color is controlled during the production by the amount time the materials are allowed to process. For example, one hour will produce less of a rust finish, than five hours will.

  • Rusted Steel
  • Rusted Steel

How it works:

A primer and iron flake solution are applied to an aluminum surface. An acidic solution is then applied, which begins the “rusting” chemical reaction. Depending on the desired rust level, the sign could sit for a couple hours or as long as overnight. Once the desired rust look is achieved a clear coat is applied to stop the rusting reaction permanently and seal the material. The product will not continue to degrade.

Aluminum Steals the Look of Rusted Steel

20th April 2017 by Michael McKeag

5 Reasons to Consider an Alternative to Cor-ten Steel for Signage

Get the industrial look of rusted steel using aluminum and ASI’s faux weathering and rusting finishing process for signage that looks like this:

5 Reasons to Choose Finished Aluminum over Rusted Steel:

1. Lighter Weight

At ⅔ the weight of steel, per square foot, this product is more easily and more economically installed. Only light-duty machinery and minimal labor are needed at install time.

2. Durability

The finish of the material is NOT rusting so the finish is not degraded any further. It will never rust through or discolor surrounding materials.

3. Customization Opportunity

Need illumination, routed lettering, or a custom shape? No problem, aluminum allows for this flexibility. No torches, water jet saws, or welders are needed like with Cor-ten steel.

4. Better Vandal Resistance

The process involves applying a primer with iron flakes to aluminum then clear coating to seal the material. This clear coating fends off possible vandalism by sealing the material and making it easier to clean.

5. A More Controlled Look

Using samples, we are able to choose and collaborate over the best color for the project. The rust color is controlled during the production process by the time the material is allowed to process.

How Faux Rusted Aluminum Signage works:

rusting steel
A primer and iron flake solution are applied to the aluminum sign with an acidic solution sprayed over to begin the “rusting” chemical reaction. Depending on the rust level, the sign could sit for a couple hours or overnight.

Clients are able to choose the look based on product sample ranges. Once the desired rust level is achieved a clear coat is applied to stop the rusting reaction permanently.

While aluminum can be more expensive than steel, the value-added difference is made up quickly through the control of the look, flexibility of design, durability of the product, and the labor needed at install.

Inspiration in a Standard System

23rd January 2017 by Alan Parsons

Customizing a standard product is a wonderful option to transform a stock system into a look that is unique to your facility. Utilizing a standard (mass-produced) product for your custom sign system can better adhere to a consistent appearance, yet still add flexibility.

Product lines such as Venus and Horizon extrusion systems help make replacing the functional aspect of a sign much easier. Essentially one is allowing for the unified sign design to be made up of multiple parts, thus creating a customized modular system that can be changed, updated, or expanded in the future. Customizing a standard system is most commonly executed in two ways: the addition of a backer or other accessories, or the use of print-to-panel graphics.

Brand or design elements are easily incorporated and also easily updated without discarding the entire sign; be it a window with lens and insert, a simple insert extrusion, or the in-use slider. This saves cost for the customer as the entire sign does not have to be replaced.

The Reflections product line is very low profile, easily blending and integrating well with any design ideas, with other products, or with custom builds. With the increasing growth of printing capabilities many of these standard line products lend themselves easily to custom direct print (print-to-panel) projects. They become the perfect material to apply an array of printed custom design graphics to.

Incorporating a modular and time-tested product into a custom look is a perfect way to help insure an overall sign design will function in a predictable way and cost remains consistent. Digital Environmental and Wall Graphic Signs for Interior Branding

Interior design and branding are key drivers in the expanding use of large format environmental graphics. When wall surfaces are changed into a floor-to-ceiling impression, the entire user experience is transformed.

These moments of engagement between visitors and the environment you create, bring emotions and memories that craft an impression. Graphics help enforce not just a brand, but the image of the brand – that positive first impression, a sense of calm, or a feeling of energy. Decorating a children’s area with bright and playful imagery projects a welcoming environment. Super graphics of a mining operation highlights the work behind the final product that is produced.

Why and Where to Use Large Format Wall Graphics

Environmental graphics are most commonly appearing in the form of a decorative wall or an art piece. These are part of the interior design of a facility and often included as an architectural element. While wall graphics can be a bold statement, not all are intended to be “attention grabbers”.

Unique Challenges of Printed Signage

Start with a wall and an idea, and then work through the details. The first factor is the quality of the artwork. “Super” graphics require high resolution artwork. The image resolution may look great as an 8-1/2” x 11 framed picture, but expanding that to a 7 ft. wall results in a fuzzy photo.

For a successful installation, the wall surface will determine the necessary product. There are 3M films and wraps for almost every wall, including highly-textured surfaces and masonry. Over-laminate options add an additional level of protection from cleaning and fading, and can add a gloss or matte finish.

Branding, identity and impressions are playing a major role in architectural spaces and can be blended into almost any space through the use of environmental graphics.

Digital Signage Made Easy

27th September 2016 by Ben Latimer

ASI Signage Innovations has been using Samsung MagicInfo, a very versatile line of digital displays that feature on-board software for digital signage applications. The best part about this software is that the media player is included with every display in the Samsung DB series – at no additional cost!

Easy to Manage Digital Signage

This system comes with over 40 stock templates where the user can upload their own images, videos or pdf files and adjust the text to fit the particular application. The MagicInfo comes standard with all of the display sizes in the DB series (10”, 22”, 32”, 40”, 48”, 55”, 65” & 75”). This system is accessed by placing content on a USB and/or SD Card for use on the display and the content is controlled by the standard Samsung remote control that is included with the display.

The MagicInfo software is a basic, entry-level application that allows the user to design and schedule content quickly and easily without the expense of separate media players and software applications. In addition, the Samsung DB series of displays will accept input of external media players using HDMI and VGA inputs, if a third party software solution is used.

This system allows the use of pre-loaded templates with existing content (images, videos, etc.) that they may already have in their possession. No need for special graphic designers, or software engineers. The system also allows users to schedule up to three different templates at a given time. This keeps the content fresh, updated and interesting, keeping your company’s digital signs looking brand new.

Custom Enclosures for a Richer Look.

Digital displays can be much more than just a TV screen. A digital signage display includes an enclosure, custom designed to integrate into the existing architectural environment where the sign is placed. The face panels can also be customized into a wide range of designs, colors and finishes to meet the interior decor or branding needs of the client.

All of the Samsung DB series of displays can be installed using a wide variety of display mounts. The screens require power and data to the screen locations but also have an internal wireless access point.

Samsung is constantly improving these displays and new models are introduced frequently. This DB Series platform is very versatile in the entry-level usage of digital signage and has the flexibility to be expanded with future growth.

Branding Through Signage

22nd September 2016 by Kristin Adkins

The most important and valuable asset that a company owns is its brand. Bringing the brand into your facility space creates a multi-dimensional experience that is physical and sensory, creating a memorable impression.

How Signage Brands Your Environment

Environmental branding creates a sense of place or familiarity. It is particularly effective in retail and public spaces (take a stroll through any mall), and is often applied to corporate settings to reflect and elevate the character of a company and enhance the user’s experience. Branded work spaces create a personal connection to your brand, increase employee engagement, and studies show it improves performance as well.

Considerations.

  • How can my brand carry over into a built space or physical environment?
  • How can a sign system and environmental graphics help shape my brand?

Interior, exterior and digital signage are very effective vehicles for a company to showcase its brand within a facility. A creative sign design can promote the organization’s brand throughout its facility by integrating the logo, organizational colors, and themes effectively into the signage. The addition of environmental graphics works to further develop a cohesive climate, effectively extending the audience experience deeper into the organization’s messaging. Key within is an integrated approach to create a common consistency in the messaging across all elements.

Color-Changing LED Technology for Eye-Popping Signage

2nd June 2016 by Kristin Adkins

LED technology has been in the forefront of the signage industry for the past decade. Now color-changing LEDs have taken center stage.

RGB LEDs have found their way into signage, to add eye-popping results. Businesses are always looking for a way to catch the eyes of potential customers. Whether looking for the perfect color match for a corporate logo, or the use of fully programmable schedule of color changing effects – color changing LEDs are marking their mark on the industry through illuminated signage.

LED

Two main control systems are currently offered. The user-friendliest version can be run with a remote control. The remote version allows you to easily dial in on colors. The remote system also comes with pre-programmed sequences. For the tech savvy customers, the second option is a computer-controlled software. This function allows for full control over programming. Giving the user the ability to customize lighting patterns.

Color changing LEDs are bringing new life into the field. They easily add design value to help push a brand.
